As a client, you may have frequently asked questions about my health coaching, nutrition and herbal medicine services… And I hope to provide answers with this FAQ page. If I left something general out, please contact me via this page.
How Does a Session Work and What Does It Look Like?
We sit down together in a comfortable place (or I’ll “meet” you via HIPPA video call). I will have already looked at your new client paperwork, and read about what problems you’re having. Then I simply interview you about your health for about an hour and a half.
We then might talk about three choices for easy homework options that you could start. You will choose the homework that you would like to work on.
What Does the Follow Up Appointment Look Like?
At the follow up, we will again talk together in a comfortable place. We’ll talk about what may be blocking your body from healing itself. We may also discuss nutritional and menu items to add in. We might talk about lifestyle habits that may be not helping you, like poor sleep habits, trying to live on coffee, or keeping up a stressful schedule. Follow up appointments usually last about 45 minutes to an hour.
Do you use store bought vitamins?
Sometimes it’s easier to fill in possible nutritional gaps with supplements first. Later, it would be better to try to use real foods.
I may recommend vitamins at local health food stores or online. I don’t sell them myself.
Do you use herbal medicine?
This all depends on the person and their needs. I have to check that the herbs would not interfere with someone’s doctor prescribed medications.
When appropriate, I do create custom herbal medicine tea blends for people, use herbs in alcohol (called tinctures), flower essences (flowers from plants or trees that infused water). They have different applications and uses.
Can you get me off my medications?
No, I am not legally allowed to discuss raising, lowering, or stopping your medications with you. That really could endanger you. Your doctor has given them to you for a reason.
However, I can try to help you with menu, vitamins, herbs, and lifestyle habits like excercise, sleep and water intake. This may or may not improve/change your health picture. Then you can have a talk about medications with your own doctor.
Do you offer guarantees?
My state, Colorado, does not allow me to offer any guarantees of outcomes. Besides, your outcome largely depends on your making changes that we discuss. Are you willing to make changes to improve your health? If so, then contact me now.
What is your education?
I am currently studying to become a homeopath with Dynamis Homeopathy School from Jeremy and Camilla Scherr.
I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in a non-health field, and an Advanced Herbalism certificate from the Colorado School of Clinical Herbalism in 2015.
While at herbal school, I studied nutrition, custom herbal formulations and safety, basic anatomy, detoxification, Bach flower essences and more. Due to my own health issues, I have studied and followed special diets (Paleo diet, GAPS diet, autoimmune paleo (AIP)), Dr. Terry Wahls, and Dr. Weston Price.
I have found the Wahls Protocol® to be very helpful in modifying personal health, no matter what the condition or “–itis” is called by Western Medicine. I am a certified practitioner with Dr. Wahls.
What methods do you use?
A client’s therapy might involve changes in menu and lifestyle (exercise, sleep, water intake), herbal medicine as tea, tincture or flower essences. Other modalities include homeopathy, color light therapy, and referrals to other professionals like chiropractors, Reiki, or lab tests for vitamin D measurement.
Do you have more general questions? While I can answer general questions, I can’t talk about anyone’s specific medical issues over email. It would be irresponsible without knowing you and all that’s going on with you more thoroughly. Contact me now via email or schedule soon at this calendar scheduler.
