I am now offering my clients Reconnective Healing, an energy health care method was developed by Dr. Eric Pearl, a chiropractor who found his patients started channeling higher consciousness while on the adjusting table. Fifty patients told him, “What you are doing is bringing light and information onto the planet.” The incredible tale is told in Dr. Pearl’s book, The Reconnection.
How Does It Work?
I was trained to play and feel the energy, which is believed to come from the Divine or God. I receive it for someone else close by or at a distance (called distance healing). However, I do not direct it or send it. Why not? Well, God knows more than this mortal what healing each person needs. Their knee may be injured, but perhaps the healing that is most important is something else entirely. By having me hold no intention during the healing (except for someone’s highest and best good), the healing is thought to be directed by divine energy and intelligence.
No Guarantees of Healing
Strangely, this means I can’t guarantee healing for a specific problem. A client may have something they want to work on (elbow, digestive, headaches), but the energies may work on something else. But Colorado law doesn’t allow me to guarantee any results anyway...
Tapping Into Imagination
But this is all just imagination. I’m just helping the energy come through, not directing it. It’s not important what my hands are doing at all, and in fact, some of our training involved just looking at someone. All of the exercises merely help us get out of our own heads. Energy medicine seems to involve PLAY.
And I’m not sure if this relates to quantum field energy, but that also seems to involve play and intent, with split atoms changing their reactions if someone is watching and recording. (See Lynn McTaggert’s The Field – an amazing book and audiobook!) And Dr. Pearl is working on a second book with his associate. (See Dr. Pearl’s website: TheReconnection.com)
What Do I Feel and See During Reconnective Healing?
I move my hands around to start playing with the energy, and really get out of my own head. We were taught to drop our hands down, and feel a heavier water layer, as if we were standing in a lake. Or to move our hands left and right as if we are doing Tai Chi, to also feel and play with the heavier energy. We felt around to find a heavier spot of energy, and slowly do circles on it with one hand. Moving less seems to increase the energy. There are practice methods in the book and in Dr. Pearl’s first course online.
What Does It Feel Like to Receive?
While practicing on each other during the training sessions, it felt like gentle or strong energy was coming in, similar to Reiki. It felt good. Sometimes it feels like I’m having a gentle dream, a meditation session, or having a conversation that I can’t recall. And I often think (with my brain that won’t stop analyzing), “I want to remember this,” but no luck.
What Physical Signs May Show Up in a Person Receiving Reconnective Healing?
Some people may go into a meditative or dream state, with their eyes moving back and forth as if they are in REM sleep. Other people have muscles twitch, or hands or feet that start to move on their own (this isn’t everyone). And some (lucky) people have had spiritual experiences like seeing angels. One student, a friend whom I was working on, had strong facial movements during a short session. She told me afterwards that she felt as if she was having a conversation with several people, but couldn’t recall the subject.
The Client Sits or Lays Down
The Reconnective Healing client may sit in a chair or lie down, whatever suits them. The client has the session fully clothed. In my offices, I have soft chairs ehat both sit up and recline. I doe’t have a massage table, so there isn’t that option. Clie
Stronger At A Distance
This energy medicine method, like other systems, can be worked at a distance. And its supposed to have a stronger effect at a distance, for some reason. Perhaps its the true letting go of intention, when you are really receiving for someone that you can’t even see.
When I’m playing with the energy for someone at a distance (across the room or state), I sometimes see a large ball in front of me. And I imagine that I’m swirling heavy energy on parts of the ball. And then it often feels good to pull the ball into a larger expanded state, as if I am holding a large globe. Or expand it beyond my size, as if I’m standing in a sphere.
Conflicts with Other Energy Healing
Dr. Eric Pearl was working on someone in a group once. He noticed that the person he was receiving energy for was showing physical signs of receiving it (explained more below). Then it stopped working – all physical signs ceased. He looked behind him, and other people were sending energy, too. He asked them to allow him to do it alone for a moment, and then the physical signs in the receiver came back again. For this reason, Eric Pearl concluded that other energy medicine systems like Reiki conflicted with this system. Dr. Pearl requests that these healings be done separately from other energy healing modalities.
[I want to make clear that I respect Reiki, have had Reiki sessions, and will have them again. I just telling you what I’ve learned here.]
